Leeds has been named one of the best cities in Europe to locate a business by global commercial property consultants Cushman&Wakefield. According to the European Cities Monitor 2009 Leeds is number one in Europe in terms of value for money of office space.
The survey of senior executives from over 500 of Europe's biggest companies also quotes availability of office space, cost of staff and access to markets and transport links with other cities in the UK and internationally amongst the city’s many advantages.
Headline rents for grade A office space in Leeds are £26 per sq ft for city centre premises and £18.50 per sq ft for out-of-town locations. The highest rent for warehouse and industrial space is £6 per sq ft. (source: King Sturge)
Work has now been completed on the £32 million East Leeds link road, which provides a direct link between the city centre and junction 45 of the M1 and has released 250 hectares of development land in the Aire Valley Leeds.
Planning permission has already been granted for up to 5.5 million sq ft of new office, warehousing and industrial space on sites adjacent to the new road.
